WELCOME

Welcome to the Urban Culture course at Avila University created by Susan Lawlor and Dotty Hamilton.  We travel with our students to great cities to explore art museums, engage with the architecture, study the local film and music venues, and experience the ethnic enclaves as a way to learn about the culture of urban spaces and the interaction of art and environment.  It's a fun, intense learning environment.

Troy giving chopstick lessons to Garrett

  1. This was for sure one of the hardest parts of the whole trip because Garrett had never used chop sticks before. It took a little while but after we all gave our little bits of input and advice I think he finally got it down. Garrett can now use chopsticks which should have made his trip to China Town and eating the food much sweeter :)

  2. This was probably one of the best eating places we had been too on the trip, for starters there was so much food to choose from but then the waiters just piled on more food making me even more happy. It was pretty funny watching Garrett try to use chopsticks; it was also good watching Garrett eat something other than a cheeseburger.
